Pricing & Running The Job: Estimate To Handoff
The Resin Lab Training Academy · Exclusive Resin Supply
Coming Soon · Free / $0
Turn a measured floor into a clear scope, realistic estimate, organized material plan, and coordinated job—from the first conversation through final handoff.
Class Overview
A good-looking floor still needs a well-run business behind it. This proposed class brings estimating and operations together so contractors can make deliberate decisions about scope, costs, pricing, materials, crews, and customer communication.
Work through a flooring-project scenario and identify the information needed before committing to a price or schedule. Review how to account for preparation, organize purchasing, assign responsibilities, and document changes. The focus is a repeatable decision process, with pricing based on the contractor’s own costs and goals rather than a universal selling price or promised margin.
Who This Class Is For
Owner-operators, estimators, project coordinators, and growing crew leads who want a more organized way to quote and run resin-flooring work.
Learning Outcomes
• Convert measurements and site findings into a written scope with clear assumptions and exclusions.
• Build an estimate that accounts for materials, labor, preparation, equipment, overhead, and project risk.
• Explain pricing choices using the business’s own cost structure and goals.
• Create a material and crew plan with readiness checkpoints and customer updates.
• Document changes, inspect the work, and organize final handoff records.
Proposed Module Outline
Module 1: Measure And Define Scope
Capture rooms, usable areas, edges, access constraints, slab conditions, and customer priorities. State assumptions and exclusions before preparing the proposal.
Module 2: Build The Cost Estimate
Organize material quantities using current coverage guidance. Consider labor, equipment, waste, preparation, overhead, and contingencies grounded in the actual project.
Module 3: Choose And Explain A Price
Review markup and margin concepts, proposal clarity, payment milestones where appropriate, and change documentation. Use illustrative scenarios rather than prescribed selling prices or promised results.
Module 4: Stage Materials And Run The Crew
Develop a purchasing and staging checklist, crew responsibilities, work sequence, readiness checkpoints, and a plan for unexpected conditions.
Module 5: Communicate And Close The Job
Plan customer updates, scope changes, final inspection, care instructions, punch-list tracking, and handoff records. Review estimated versus actual effort to inform future jobs.
Experience Level & Prerequisites
Foundational To Intermediate. No business-management qualification is required. Bring a sample floor plan or past estimate if available. Basic measurements and familiarity with your own labor and material costs will make the exercises more useful.
What To Expect
The proposed format uses guided estimating exercises, scope-writing examples, material-planning checklists, and project-management scenarios. Bring a notebook, calculator, and a past estimate if you have one. Exercises illustrate a process; they do not establish a required selling price or guarantee profitability. Duration, venue, materials, and final class arrangements will be confirmed before registration opens.
Coming Soon. No dates or enrollment are available yet. This class teaches business pricing, but the training itself remains Free / $0.
Reservations will open when sessions are scheduled.
